## Experience

### Segistics, LLC (Sept 2022–Present)

Staff engineer, team lead. 2023–present, after senior software engineer from Sept 2022. Remote.

- Co-designed and launched the team’s AI-assisted development workflow with the other engineering lead in 2 weeks. Claude agents take requirements to Jira tickets, build features, and open pull requests. GitHub Copilot reviews them, then an engineer does. Throughput went from about 2–3 to 6–9 features per 2-week sprint.
- Lead a team of 4–5 engineers. Hired 4, ran performance reviews, trained the team on the workflow, and partnered with product and design. Launched Gavel with the team around May 2024. Five auction houses run their auctions on it.
- Shipped self-pick auction pickup from idea to production in 4 days, versus about 2 sprints (about 4 weeks) before. Winners check in and see where each lot is, workers verify items before release, and refusals go to a refund review queue. One auction house runs several hundred pickups per auction on it, and a wider rollout is planned.
- Designed Gavel’s NestJS API from scratch and helped design the real-time bidding architecture. The Expo app is on the iOS App Store and Google Play. The Next.js admin runs on Google Cloud and Firebase, with WebSockets for live bids. Web bidding opened auctions to people without a smartphone, and to people who will not install the app.
- Helped build a Gemini auction bot that helps admins write lot descriptions, build reports, and analyze bidder behavior.
- Integrated Stripe to charge winning bidders automatically, plus account creation, mobile payments, and receipts.
- Cut release time from 8 hours to 30 minutes with an Expo pipeline on Cloud Build, EAS, and Firebase App Distribution. Handled React Native and Expo SDK upgrades and wrote native modules. Cut a new client environment from about a week to about 1.5 hours once requirements are in, with Terraform on Cloud Run, Secret Manager, Cloud Scheduler, Cloud Storage, and Firebase.
- Delivered a Python MQTT service that ties RFID tags, scanners, and pan-tilt-zoom cameras together for a consignment company that supplied an auction house. During the holding period, the company checked item condition remotely, and scanners tracked locations so staff did not enter them by hand.

### DugoutDesk, LLC (2026–Present)

Founder. Side company, solo build. dugoutdesk.app
https://dugoutdesk.app

- Built DugoutDesk solo with Cursor and AI agents. It is a baseball and softball team platform used by 23 teams and 94 accounts, live on the iOS App Store, with Android in Play testing. First idea to the App Store took about 3 weeks.
- Designed a TypeScript monorepo with pnpm and Turborepo: a Next.js web app and PWA on Vercel, a NestJS API on Cloud Run, an Expo app, a shared Zod package, and Supabase Postgres and Auth. Player stats stay with the player across teams.
- Shipped live pitch-by-pitch scoring, stats, lineups, a defense rotation builder that checks pitcher limits, scheduling with RSVPs, and team chat. Billing is Stripe on the web, Stripe Connect for parent dues, and RevenueCat for in-app subscriptions.

### C2FO (2021–2022)

Software engineer II

- Built product UI in TypeScript, React, MUI, and XState on GraphQL with Apollo and Relay.
- Supported and extended legacy Kotlin, Java, and Node.js services on Amazon ECS and EKS, and covered a weekly on-call rotation.

### Cerner (2018–2021)
